Thanks Irene :o)

I made this card the other day but I've only just got round to uploading the picture. I made it to thank Irene for, well just for being Irene really. I chose the handbag and cat image as she loves bags and I love cats so it kinda represents us both. I'm happy to say she loved the card, and here it is...

... and it's 'Quite White' ... ;o) xx

Beep beep, congrats you passed!

When Mr Maisie came home from work last night he asked if I had anything in my vast card making collection for someone who had passed their driving test as one of his colleagues had just lost their L's (YAY!). All I had that was to do with cars was a vintage sports car and that was far too masculine for a 20 something girlie girl so out came my thinking cap...

I had a look on line for a car template and eventual found a nice simple side view. With the car being simple I knew it could take a 'busy' paper so out came my stash and here’s what I came up with, I just hope she likes it :o)

I'm not 100% happy with the butterfly but apart from that I'm really happy with how it turned out, I even like the oversized wheels as it looks like the car has been 'pimped' lol. I'm just debating now if there is enough 'white' on the card to be eligible for the 'Quite White' challenge over at MTTC, I don't suppose it can hurt to enter again...

2.5 days dizzy free!

Yes! I have had 2 and a half days free from dizzy spells!!! I soooo hope that this means my 5 week spell of vertigo is over (please keep your fingers crossed for me). I felt so well yesterday that I thought I'd have a bash at a card so I headed over to My Time To Craft Challenge to get some ideas and inspiration and hoping for an easier challenge than 'Music Medley'. Well this week’s challenge is 'Quite White', less is more so lots of white spaces are needed for this one, and what’s any whiter than snow?...

I bought some new snowflake dies a few weeks back that I really wanted to try along with a heat embosser and a couple of powders so I got the idea for this card quite easily. The dies were lovely to use, gave a nice crisp finish but 2 of them didn't have a 'pokey out hole' so it wasn't easy to free them once they were cut, I'll definitely make sure future dies have a hole! I loved embossing!!! I can't wait to do more of it, I just hope my next project won’t fly about as much as my snowflakes did though lol.

So here it is, my first ever entry in a card making challenge, I hope you like it as much as I do :o)

Christmas White & Lilac

People at MTTC:- I hope it's Ok for me to enter your challenges, if it's not or if I have done anything wrong please point me in the right direction :o) xx

And the winner isn't...

Well my card for The My Craft Challenge is a disaster! I made so many mistakes with it (I guess my head isn't as clear as I thought it was) and it has nothing at all to do with "Music Medley" I thought maybe bird song would tie in as I had some bird card stock but nope it just doesn't cut it :o(
I'm more or less happy with the layout of the card and I've learned from the mistakes I made so I guess it wasn't a total waste of time.
Anyway, here is the offending item...

Gonna have another think and see if I can come up with something else I could do for the "Music Medley" challenge, can you hear those cogs whiring??? lol

Note to self...

... Just cos your feeling better now it dosen't mean you can stop taking your tablets!
After feeling so much better yesterday and no dizzy spells I thought I no longer needed my tablets, silly me!!!! Back on them today after waking up with a fuzzy head but it's no where near as bad as it's been so I'm still a happy bunny :o)

I'm trying to wean my self off facebook a bit cos I'm soooo addicted to Farm & Cityville (I know it's sad) so I'm gonna have a bash at one of the craft challenges I've seen on some of the amazing blogs I've visited. Never entered anything like this before so keep your fingers crossed for me please!

Oh... just been over to My Time to Craft and their challange is "Music Medley". I haven't got anything at all remotley connected with music.... hmmm.... gonna have to try and think outside the box on this one...

Don't hold ya breath peeps waiting for my "Music Medley" work of art lol

I'm normal! (ish)

Today is the 1st day in what feels like forever that I haven't had a dizzy spell!
I hope this means that my vertigo has decided to go and bother someone else for a while. I can't believe when I was a kid I used to play 'dizzydollies' to get the dizzy feeling cos this week I would have paid every penny I have to get a clear head.

Hero to victim

Well my last post told how my Dad was the hero of the hour, in this one he's the victim.
On Thursday while out shopping in Dewsbury with Irene he was pickpocketed! They got his money and house keys the B*******! He didn't know a thing about it till he came to pay in a shop and everything had gone which I'm glad about cos knowing Dad he would have given chase and a good hiding! He was really shook up but not hurt and I had a set of house keys for his so he could get in but bloody hell some people, targeting a 76 year old, bet the cowards wouldn't dare face someone their own age! I really hope what ever they spent the money on didn't do them one bit of good...

My Dad the hero!

Not a very exciting weekend for me but my dad found a young girl and boy wondering alone, bare foot and in their night clothes. I don't know the full story yet apart from he gave the police a 3 page statement and was told if the case goes to court he may be called as a witness. Gonna buy him a nice cool beer or 2 when were next out cos I deffo think he deserves it :o)

Crying at a bus stop (Part 2*)

Just had a text message from a relative asking if I was OK as she saw me crying at a bus stop yesterday...
  1. I wasn't crying, I was warm and 'glowing' so I was just wiping my face
  2. She saw me 'crying' at 5pm yesterday and she only text now to see if I am OK
  3. Why didn't she come up to me yest to find out what was wrong and if she could help?
I guess thats why they say 'Friends are the family you choose for your self....'

* Not put part 1 in to words yet

Feck! How slack am I???

I was watching Emmerdale tonight with Mr Maisie, dad & Irene when Mr M said 'Where do we know him from, he looks familiar?' talking about Declan's dad Dermot. Irene piped up 'Father Ted' and me and Mr M both had a jaw dropping moment and then a chorus of 'it is, it's Father Jack!' How I had not spotted that before I have no idea but I do know I prefer him in Father Ted, DRINK!

One - Nil to the birthday girl, Feck!!!!!!

Happy Birthday Irene!

Today is my friend Irene's birthday. We had a lovely tea at a local pub with just a little tipple of alcohol (Irene doesn't drink very much at all but I will soon get her round to my way of thinking lol) While we were waiting for our food to arrive totally embarrassed her by singing happy birthday (why do we all get embarrassed by people singing happy birthday to us??) but she soon came round when she opened her presents!

Irene's fave flowers are poppies so a poppy birthday card I had to make!

This is a kilner jar I decorated and filled with her fave sweets, jelly babies!
(Yes a few did escape)

A little box made by my own fair hands containing a small silver poppy charm.

She loved her gifts and the birthday cake I had waiting for her when we arrived back home went down a treat too! So happy birthday Irene, I hope you have a lovely day :o) xx
