Thank You Sizzix!

Just a quick post to keep my hand in today.

A good few weeks back tragedy struck, the handle of my Big Shot broke, I was devastated! I love my big shot, I use it on almost every project and I just knew I was going to be lost without it. I didn't want to buy a new one, not only due to the cost but because it was a Christmas present a few years back and I'm a sentimental kinda girl.

Anyway, a few days later I was on the Sizzix facebook page and I saw someone ask about buying parts for their Big Shot, it never occurred to me that I may be able to buy a new handle, I couldn't type my request for where to buy my part quick enough! To cut a long story short Sizzix sent me out a new handle, totally free of charge!!! Thank you Sizzix xx so I decided I would make them a thank you card, using my nice new handled Big Shot machine, and here it is...

I really hope Sizzix liked it as much as I did having my machine back!

I also entered it in the Cardmaking & Papercraft Challenge, let's hope I have better luck than last month!

Hmmmm, so much for a quick post...

Running before I could walk

It seems I wasn't as well as I thought I was when I declared I was 'back!'. My heads a shed still so I haven't been crafting this last week or so but I wanted to post here so I don't get totally out of the habit.

I want to share my latest craft purchase with you and I think it was a bargain!!!

The gun (including a few glue sticks) was £3.49 and the packs of 20 glue sticks were £1.26 each, so all this for £6.01!

Check out the DIY section of your local Home Bargains store, it's amazing what crafty bargains you could find ;o)

Can't wait till my head clears and I can have a play with my new toy!

TTFN xx

I'm Back!

It's 4 months since my last post, I can't believe it! I knew it had been a while but didn't think it was that long...

Sorry for my absence, a few things changed here and I got a little 'lost' for a while but I have decided today's the day I try and turn things around a little. (Wish me luck please and if you see me flagging, give me a push!)

Even though I haven't been posting I have been keeping an eye on all your posts and I have been seeing some lovely crafts! So it's now your job to keep up the good work and my job to try and reach your standards!

Right, now the crafty stuff...

I have been a bit crafty this last few months so I have a few pics to share with you over the next few days, I thought I'd do a few short posts than 1 long one so please bear with me.

I made this card for my niece's birthday, she was 30 (OMG 30!!!!) in June, if I didn't feel old before I sure do now!

I was pleased with how it turned out apart from the stars & streamers background paper, don't get me wrong I love the paper but I don't think it quite goes with the rest of the card, but that's all I had to work with at the time. In a fit of madness I decided to enter the card in a challenge I saw posted the other day (eeeeeeeek!), here's the link if you want to have a nosey and wish me luck.

Well I best put the tea on now or I'll have some very hungry misters on my hands soon!

Till later, toodles! xx

Little Boy Blue

While at my mum in laws on Sunday the phone rang and she got me to answer it and it was actually for me! It was her granddaughter asking if I would make a card for her friend who had just had a baby boy. How flattering is that?!?! Someone likes my cards enough to ask me to make one for them to send!!!

Unfortunately I had next to nothing in my stash suitable for a baby boy but this is what I came up with...

I feel the corners are too plain but I've tried putting a few different thing there and it just doesn't work.

To say I had nothing suitable for a baby boy I'm quite happy with how it turned out, I just hope she is too, fingers crossed!

Need to craft!!!

I can't wait for tonight's craft class!!!!!!!

I am so stressed out just now...

  1. Why can't people do their jobs?
  2. Why can't people phone you back when they say they will?
  3. Why do people say one thing and mean something else?
  4. Do people try and make life difficult for a reason?

I soooo wanted to throttle someone down the phone just now and that it not like me! What I wouldn't give right now to be submerged here...

I'm a true piscean, I love the water whether I'm swimming, playing or just floating about in it, water relaxes me and when I win the lottery (yes when not if) I'm gonna have the best pool ever!

But, that's never gonna happen so bring on the next best thing, craft class and all it's lovely, barmy ladies (and gent)!

Right gonna go and cheer my self up a bit by shopping for pools...

Cya tonight girls (and guy)! xx

Saturday 7 April 2012

I'm sure this time last year it was still February...

Time is really flying at the moment, I never have the time to do anything, where is my life going???

I've hardly been crafty at all, I made a Mothers Day Card for my mum in law, a birthday card for a girl at craft class and finished off a few projects that were started in class but I didn't have time to finish, hope you like them...

I really enjoyed making this card, took me ages!!! but I was really pleased how it turned out.
I'd never done weaving before and I didn't have a pattern or design to follow, I just sort of made it up as I went along. Think I need to invest in some distressing inks for next time though.

I didn't have much time to make this but I think she liked it.

This is one that I didn't get time to finish in class, theres something missing from it but can I heck remember what...

Really love the colours and stamps used on this.

Made the cards in class but had to make the box at home (think I talk too much in class lol),
think this would make a lovely gift set.

Love the flower stamp the bird is perched on!

A cute little gift bag.

There, so that's all I've been up to the last month or so, I really must pull my self together and get crafty!

Till next time, toodles ;o) xx

Miss You Mum xx

It's been six years since you passed away
And I love & miss you more everyday
I'd give everything I own to spend one more moment with you
My love for you is so deep and true
As a mum and a friend you were the best
And I think of you with every beat of my chest
You will live on forever in my heart and mind
Cos you are my mum and you're one of a kind!

With all my love
for always & forever

Holiday + Mr M = ill

Why is it whenever Mr Maisie has a week off from work he gets ill? I thought we would have a lovely week together leading up to my birthday, getting out and about or chilling with a nice film or something but no, he's full of cold! It's not quite man flu at the moment but it's not far from it, so today and tomoz is chill out time so he can hopefully get over it and we can start his holiday on Monday (fingers crossed!).

I've kicked him to bed for an hour and now I don't know what to do with my self, do I get crafty or do I tidy my stash (it is in a bit of a mess)? Hmmmm I wonder which will win?...

Back in the swing of things

I made it to craft class last night!!! I was a bit hmmm on whether to go or not in the hours leading up to the class but in the end I thought sod it, if I'm not well when I'm there I can go back home! I was a bit :oS the first hour or so but the tutor, my craft buddy J & the rest of the gang soon brought me round (thank you xx), and I'm so glad I went cos look what we made...

I just need to add some brads and stick this one together.

I don't have a great deal of confidence when stamping, I'm OK when it's on paper that's to be cut out but when it's on the main body of the card I panic a bit and usually mess it up but I was really happy with my stamping on these, I didn't mess things up, yay! And I just love the flowery stamp on the bird card, I think it's tweet!

Time was running short so the tutor got me a kit together for the last project so I could put it together at home, can you guess what it's going to be?

Answers on a post card to... lol

TTFN & have a fab weekend xx

Feeling much better :o)

Feeling much better now thank goodness! Started to pick up a bit Wednesday night and now feel back to normal, well normal for me lol!

I learnt this week not to make cards when you don't feel 100%, the valentine I made for Mr Maisie didn't turn out quite how I wanted it to, I liked the card but I thought it was too pink and girly...

So I had a go at another one, 18 red roses, 1 for each year we have been together (all together now awwwww lol)

Neither were what I really wanted to give him cos he has been so sweet to me while I have been under the weather so I had a bash at something else...

... a chicken, leak & ham pie! I was so pleased it turned out OK, no splits or breaking up and no, I repeat no burnt bits!!!! I'm happy to say Mr M loved it too, as well as both his cards!

The last of my February cards was a birthday card for my sister in law, I made this on Wednesday when I started to feel a bit better, I deffo think you can tell the difference...

So that's it, the last of my February home made makes, I'll upload my lovely craft class creations tomoz!

Ciao for now! xx

Oh and Happy Valentines Day!!! I hope your all having a wonderful time with lots of lovely cards, flowers and chocolates xx

Yesterday and today I have felt like poo! Dunno whats up with me and I can't seem to shake it off. I've had a nice bath to try and liven my self up a bit and now I'm having a large class of Pepsi max to see it a caffeine hit will sort me out, I really hope it does cos it's craft class tonight and I really want to go but I don't want to go feeling like this :o(

Get well soon me!

Tuesday 7 February 2012

Hmmm...

Well I've been looking on the internet for valentine inspiration since my last post and I've found nothing, zilch, nada, nowt!

Gonna break for tea and get my thinking cap on, please send valentines vibes my way!!!

Busy as a busy thing!

February is turning out to be a busy card making month! I've made 6 birthday cards already and I still have (goes to check calendar) 1 birthday and a valentines card to make! Good job I don't have to make a card for my own birthday as well (25th Feb - hint hint! lol).

Here's what I've been up to...

This one was for Carolyn, she's a member of the Thursday night craft class.

I made this one first for Carolyn but I thought it was a bit old for her.

I made this one for my friend Louise.

This one is for my nephew-in-law Lee, it's his bday tomoz...

... and this one is for my dad to give Lee.

It's my friend Julie's birthday tomorrow as well :o)

Hmmm, not as happy with the pictures as I normally am, don't know what I've done any different ... :o(
Anyway, suppose I best get cracking now on the next two now,
Toodles! xx

Monday 6 February 2012

Sorry!

OK I may have been a bit harsh with my comments about Papercraft Inspirations (issue 96), I had another look at it last night and there a good few cards worth a second look! The free papers are lovely, I just wish they were on better quality paper.

So to Papercraft Inspirations...

Sunday 29 January 2012

Disappointing Magazine

I've just opened up the latest copy of Papercraft Inspirations (issue 96) and I'm really disappointed in it. There are only a couple of cards that are worth a second look at and the free papers, well...

...would be lovely if they weren't on magazine paper!

The 16 papers inside the accompanying 'Birthday Card Ideas' mag are also printed on magazine paper, and when they say 16 what they really mean is 8 cos it's 8 pages printed front and back with a different patten so there is no way you can use each one of the 16!

Grrrr!!!!

There, rant over, I feel much better now :o)

Two in One

What a busy Thursday I had!!!

Yesterday was my monthly afternoon craft class as well as my weekly evening class, it was the first time I'd had them both on the same day and even though it was a long tiring day, it was a good day!

The afternoon session had a 20's/30's feel to it. I'm not normally in to 'vintage' stuff, I like the more modern feel to my crafting but I loved these cards...

In fact I loved the cards so much I bought one of each of the 5 decoupage sheets to play with at home as well as the frame swirl die (seen in brown around the lady in the top pic).

At the evening class we made the cutest little cover for a packet of tissues and a matching get well soon card...

I will definitely be making more of these covers and it also gave me an idea for covering a larger box of tissues.

I didn't get time to finish the last project and I forgot to bring home a couple of the parts but I like what I have and I'm sure I'll be able to come up with something with this...

And here's what you had a little sneak peak of the other day...

The flower pots are the cup cake wrapper from Sundays cup cake punch and the flowers are only my second attempt at quilling. I made it as a belated birthday card for the evening craft class tutor, I think she liked it and she said she had not seen the punch used as a plant pot before so yay for me and my super fab imagination! :o) lol

Phew what a busy but fab day!

Crafty Catch Up

Here's a bit of a catch up of the last few projects at Thursday craft class and the Sunday Stampin Up session (yes I made it!!!).

A couple of weeks back the Thursday theme was 'The Tooth Fairy'. We decorated a cute little tin for those kissed out teeth to be put in ready for the tooth fairy to collect along with a little wallet that the fairy could leave a little note in or even a coin or two! And every self respecting fairy needs a wand so we made one of those as well! This was such a cute project, I love the colours and the sparkly gems but my fave part of the set is the concertinaing on the wand.

Last Thursday we decorated a heart with flowers.
We then made a card and matching gift tag.
Aren't the colours just fab!

Sunday was Cup Cake Punch day!

We made 5 cards, all using the punch in different ways and also a lovely little gift bag in the shape of a hand bag (I love, love, love this bag!!!). I really enjoyed how we used the different parts of the punch as different items...

On one card we used the cake frosting as clouds, the bun case as a basket and the candles as straps
On another the bun case became a hand bag, and of course we used the punch as it was intended to be used, as a cup cake!

I've used the punch already on a project at home, here's a sneak peek...

I'll post the full pic when the person the card is for has received it ;o)

I think it's safe to say I will definitely get my monies worth from this punch!

Phew, I really must post more often!
Toodles! xx

Tuesday 24 January 2012

I found the camera lead!!!

So here's a couple of my fave pic's from The Deep...

These 2 were inseparable all the time we were there.
It was lovely watching 'Dick & Liddy' swimming side by side,
they kinda looked like the mam & dad keeping a check on all their little en's

This guy is such a cutie!
There was a purple version too but she was kinda camera shy.
(That's code for I took a bad picture lol)

How long would a game of 'Hokey Cokey' take with him!?!?

Say cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeese!

I love it at The Deep, I'd recommend a trip there to anyone!
